By Micah Halpern
I've Been Thinking:
Butterflies, millions of butterflies, have descended into the butterfly garden
in Eilat.
The butterfly garden was created in 2018. It sits in the bird reserve just outside of Israel’s southern most city in the Red Sea.
People come from all over the world to see the stunning colors and the fluttering of butterfly wings.
Every year, butterflies use the garden as a place to rest, just like their bird partners, as they migrate from Africa to Europe.
The butterflies migrate 9000 miles. No single butterfly makes the entire trip. A migration can take six generations of butterflies to complete.
This is another example of how Israel has become a world capital and magnet - not just for technology but also for those interested in studying, watching or admiring the butterfly.
