Things are heating up in the Middle East.
It has been reported that Iran warned Iraq in advance of the airstrike which took place early Wednesday.
Iran was aware that they were striking Iraqi air bases - true, that was where US soldiers could be stationed, but nonetheless, they were still Iraqi bases.
France also has several thousand troops in Iraq. The French have made it clear that there is no plan to withdraw them.
For the Middle East Arab and Persian mind, there is no difference between France and the United States. They are both Westerners and foreigners on Arab soil.
So the French are certainly a target for Iranian revenge.
