US Russian Tensions in Syria

By Micah Halpern
I've Been Thinking:
There is increased tension on the ground in Syria between the United States and Russia.
US troops are in Syria to secure the oil fields and keep them safe from ISIS and other terrorist groups.

And now - four times in eight days the United States has intercepted and blocked a Russian convoy going into the oil region.

On Sunday, when the US stopped them, the Russians turned back. Then the Russians sent a helicopter. In response to the Russian helicopter the United States dispatched two helicopters - and they brought the Russian chopper down.

These tensions are fierce. They could easily escalate, at any moment, into a full-blown attack if any step is exaggerated or mistaken.

These events are not covered in the Western press. That’s a mistake. We need to monitor this situation very closely.
