By Micah Halpern
I've Been Thinking:
Sameh Shoukry, the foreign minister of Egypt, took a quick helicopter ride to Ramallah to have a face to face conversation with PA President Abbas. He arrived after a short visit to Jordan and flew from Amman, Jordan to Ramallah, a 20 minute helicopter flight away.
The obvious agenda was to discuss a response to Israel’s plans to annex part of the West Bank.
Egypt brainstormed - first with Amman and then with Ramallah, on how to activate international influence against Israel if they pursue annexation.
The Arab world is deeply concerned about Israel’s annexation plans. They are planning a response.
All this Arab bluster may be a total waste of time, Israel’s plan has not yet been articulated – so far, it’s all speculation.
